Wordee / Legal

Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 19, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Dan Vento handles information in the Wordee mobile application and this website. It is effective as of August 19, 2026.

1. Who we are

Wordee is a local-first language-learning application. Dan Vento is the data controller for the processing described in this policy. Wordee does not require a personal account to save words or use its core learning features.

2. Information we handle

Wordee stores words, translations, dictionaries, favorites, preferences, selected languages, streaks, game results, scores, and related learning state on your Android device so the app can provide its features. This local content is not stored on a Dan Vento web server as part of the normal local-first flow.

When you request a translation, Wordee sends the text you submitted and the selected source and target language codes through the Wordee backend. The backend passes the request to Azure Translator and returns the translation. Do not submit information that you do not want processed for translation.

The backend records limited request metadata for reliability and abuse prevention, including request time, endpoint, status, duration, IP address, user-agent string, request ID, app identifier, premium status, and a short hash of the RevenueCat app-user identifier. It does not log the submitted translation text in its normal request log.

The app may use Firebase Analytics for pseudonymous usage events and Firebase Crashlytics for crash and diagnostic information. RevenueCat and Google Play Billing process subscription, entitlement, and transaction information. Dan Vento does not receive or store your payment-card details. Kotzilla may process technical application information for performance and dependency diagnostics.

3. Why information is used

Information is used to save and restore your words and settings; return requested translations; operate and secure the service; validate premium entitlements; measure aggregated app usage; diagnose crashes and performance; prevent abuse; improve Wordee; and respond to support requests.

Depending on the processing, our legal bases may include providing the service you request, performing a subscription contract, legitimate interests in security and reliability, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where applicable.

4. Sharing and international processing

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. Information may be processed by the listed providers only when needed for translation, app operation, subscription validation, diagnostics, analytics, security, or legal compliance. Those providers may process information outside the European Economic Area under their own safeguards and policies.

5. Website cookies and analytics

Wordee.app is a static informational website. It does not set first-party marketing or analytics cookies and does not include advertising trackers. The hosting provider may process ordinary server access logs, such as an IP address, request time, user agent, and requested path, to deliver and secure the site.

6. Storage, backup, and deletion

App content remains on your device until you delete it in Wordee, remove the app, or manage it through your device. Android backup and device-transfer behavior is controlled by your operating-system and Google-account settings. Provider-held diagnostic, analytics, subscription, and server-log records are retained according to the relevant provider policy and configured service settings.

You can stop translation processing by not using the translation feature. You can request review or deletion of information associated with support or provider processing by contacting us. We may retain information where a legal obligation, security need, or dispute requires it.

7. Your rights

Where applicable law, including the GDPR, applies to you, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing. You may withdraw consent where applicable and complain to your local data-protection authority. Email us to make a request; we may need to verify it before responding.

8. Children

Wordee is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, website, providers, or applicable law changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
